Hamster Cage Biting

Hamsters are mammals which belong to the rodent family. The word 'Rodent' is derived from the Latin word 'rod ere' which means to gnaw.

Hamsters are inveterate gnawers as are all rodents. There is not a lot that can be done about it: It is something hamsters do.
Some say place a piece of wood or chew blocks in the cage for them to gnaw at. But they seem to prefer gnawing on the metal bars and plastic of their cage.
